As far as I'm concerned, it all comes down to Haywood finally getting minutes, and the team being reasonably healthy (no major injuries to Arenas, Butler, Jamison OR Haywood).

If Eddie Jordan plays Haywood over 30 (regulation) minutes a game Washington will win over 50 games

-82games stats showed the net eFG% allowed opponents to be much lower with Haywood on the court (1.8%).
-Opponents scored considerably less per 100 possesions (net 5.4 points less) with Haywood on the court.
-The Wizards finished in the plus (67 points) with Haywood on the court but in the minus (98 points) with Haywood off the court.
-When Haywood played, from the free throw line the Wizards "outmade" opponents by +4 points per 100 possession (20 to 16). That advantage went down to only +1 (23 to 22) with Haywood out of the game. When Haywood did not play the Wizards didn't win decisively from the free throw line.
-The Wizards finished far better (with better being less) per 100 possession on free throws made by opponent (only 16 as opposed to 22) and free throws attempted (21 vs 29) with Haywood on the court.
-The Wizards committed FAR FEWER FOULS per 100 possesions (19 vs 24) with Haywood on the court.
